What's next for inter? Continued

In our first segment we talked about the changes Inter can make in their defence to hopefully get over the line & win the champions league trophy after finishing runners up in two of the last. I believe the area that Inter need to target the most is the center of midfield. Not only against PSG but many times this season Inter's starting midfield have looked too slow & not athletic enough in order to keep up with teams that have dynamic midfielders. This often led to Inzaghi deploying Joaquin Correa in the midfield in order to bring more dynamism. Di Marco & Dumfries are one of if not the best wingback pairing in world football, with both players able to provide defensive cover & a consistent attacking threat. Inter may look to provide more solid cover for Dumfries, which may lead to less time for Darmian which I believe is the right move. Nico Barella is a top midfielder and is the engine of the midfield, but he also needs to to be surrounded with midfielders who can also stay connected with him.

When it comes to candidates to help Inter dominate the midfield more I think there are a few options for them to be looking into.

Lamine Camara, AS Monaco, 21, 22 million euro market value

Adem Zorgane, Charleroi, 25, 5 million euro market value

Angelo Stiller, VfB Stuttgart, 24, 45 million euro market value

Morten Frendrup, Genoa, 24, 20 million euro market value

In midfield I think there are a lot of different options Inter can turn to in order to bolster the midfield. I believe they should move on from an aging Mkhitaryan & Çalhanoğlu has also gone over the other side of 30. He can still be an important contributor to the side but he should not should a sure fire starter.

Inter may not be able to replace both Mkhitaryan & Çalhanoğlu this summer, so I think they have to go for the best option available. Based on finances, age & longevity I think this would be Angelo Stiller. Stiller was excellent for Stuttgart this year & has been linked with Real Madrid. He could slot into the midfield right away providing Inter with someone who is young & excellent on the ball. Inter could also look at this as a potential Kovačić situation where they purchased him from Dinamo Zagreb & later sold him for a bigger fee. But if they don't choose that rout he is a player that can help potentially push them over the line.

Inter will have tough decisions to make when it comes to their midfield, Zieliński hasn't made the impact most people thought he would after the move from Napoli, he also is another player who is over the age of 30. With this in mind it should cause Inter to dip back into the market for a midfielder. Inter have many options to choose from, but in order for them to compete in midfield against the likes of Vitinha, João Neves & Fabián Ruiz they will have to bolster an already aging group.
