Otavio Ataide

Otávio Ataide, a 22-year-old Brazilian centre-back, has quickly established himself as a key figure in FC Porto's defense since joining the club in January 2024. Standing at 1.87 meters, his physical presence & aggression have been instrumental in helping fortify Porto's backline. So far in the 2024/2025 Primeira Liga season, Otávio has made 18 appearances in Liga NOS, contributing to 8 clean sheets & conceding just 10 goals during his time on the pitch. His defensive prowess is further highlighted by his averages of 1.13 tackles, 55.40 duel win % , & 0.68 blocks per game. These statistics underscore his ability to read the game effectively & disrupt opposing attacks. Ataide still has lot's of room to grow, I believe he can win more aerial duels consistently & improve in his one on one defending. He can be prone to getting dribbled by but often times his athletic ability helps bail him out. This will be something he will need to continue to work on as he progresses. He has a release clause of 50 million euros but is currently valued at 12 million euros by Transfermarkt, he is a player who can potentially be a bargain in the future if you can get him for lower then his release clause.
